Writer Mara Brock Akil first penned 'Moesha' and then later signed on to write the hit show 'Girlfriends,' so the two share similarities. Both 'Moesha' and 'Girlfriends' is set in the

Leimert Park neighborhood of L.A. And of course, they were both faves when they hit the small screen...everybody was tuning in weekly.

Lamont Bentley died in a single car accident in Southern California. His car sped through a stop sign and traveled through a fence. He was then ejected from the car

and his body landed in traffic. A tragic accident for such a young talent. #RIP

R&B singer, Usher, made his acting debut on Moesha. He played Jeremy, Moesha's love interest in recurring episodes from 1997 to 1999. He even performed his hit song 'You Remind

Me' on an episode. 

When you see Brandy you will most likely see Ray J #KeepItInTheFamily. But Ray J had three roles in Moesha...Charles, Dorian and himself. Later in the series it turns out

that Dorian isn't Moesha's cousin but her brother from another mother!

So, Brandy is said to have not liked the name Moesha. It's so 90's and we love it. Back in the day it was a household name and today when

you say Moesha black folks know exactly what you're talking about. 

Moesha fans never really got a show finale. The series ended with multiple cliffhangers. The spin off show, 'The Parkers', was suppose to pick up the plot-lines but that never

happened...

Kudos to Sheryl for standing up for what she believed in. She did not agree with show producers defaming the character of her show husband, Frank. Producers decided to involve

Frank in an affair making Dorian his son instead of his nephew. Sheryl didn't agree with the blemishing of a strong Black man's character and decided to walk. #WeSeeYouSherylLeeRalph

If and when there is a reboot of Moesha, we will miss Andell. Yvette Renee Wilkerson passed away from cervical cancer and kidney problems at the age of 48. #GoneTooSoon

Brandy, the star of 'Moesha', told KeKe Palmer in an interview she has no idea why UPN television station decided to cancel the show. We can speculate it was to

make room for new shows like 'The Parkers' and 'Girlfriends'. 

Although Kim, played by Countess Vaughn, was Moesha's best friend on the show, the two didn't get along at all. Brandy told BillBoard that Countess once told he,r ‘I’m the reason

why the show is successful, b**ch.’  Ouch! However the two have squashed their beef since then.
