Finally, some representation!

A black muslim man won an Oscar for playing a gay man with quite a struggle to tell. We'll take it. Not to mention, Ali became the first Muslim actor

to receive an Oscar. EVER.

It brought the entire audience to tears. Now, all Davis needs is a Grammy to get her EGOT!

Gary from Chicago was rather fond of Mahershala Ali and Denzel Washington, but avoided most of the white celebrities. The crowd couldn't get enough of it. Washington even officiated his wedding!

The cast of Hidden Figures honored Katherine Johnson, one of the black women that worked for NASA in the 1960s. Talk about breaking the glass ceiling. 

Representation has never been more important, and McCraney and Jenkins gave us just that.

We both know two white people weren't about to go up there and save jazz anyways.

Although it was painful to watch, there was something oddly satisfying about watching "Moonlight" take the Oscar out of "La La Land's" hands.

In 2009, three black people won an Oscar. This year, the Oscars finally surpassed their not-so-impressive record. In addition to "Moonlight" taking home the Best Picture Oscar, black excellence took home a

lot of gold this year. Barry Jenkins and Tarell Alvin McCraney won Best Screenplay, Viola Davis won Best Supporting Actress, Mahershala Ali won Best Supporting Actor, and Ezra Edelman and Caroline Waterlow won Best
