The ballerina bun is sleek and tight. It holds all of your hair into place, making everyone think you have your life together. The classic donut bun should be large

and what draws the eye. 

As one of my all time favorites, this is a go-to look if you have less than five minutes to do your hair. Throw your hair into that messy bun

you wear every day. Then, pull out a few strands around your face. It creates a paradoxical messy yet put together look that will frame your face nicely. 

Fancy rolls make hair with highlights look absolutely amazing. By adding the rolls, your hair will not only have added flair but also will hold for hours. 

If your hair is thin, this is a great way to make your hair look bigger, bolder, and badder. By adding a bouffant right before the bun or ponytail, your

hair will have added definition. Find a good hairspray that will hold the lift. 

This hairstyle should be reserved for church, weddings, or any other event of the same stature. While the Cinnamon Roll updo is slightly more difficult, the end result is stunning.

This hairstyle has been around for decades and does not have plans to go out of style any time soon. All you need is a hair tie and some bobby

pins to complete this look. Bonus, it takes about five minutes to put together. 

All you have to do is add a ribbon to your braid as if it were another strand of hair. When you are done, you get an adorable flourish that

is fit for any occasion. 

This might be the simplest do on the list. Just put your hair inside a hair tie. Do not double the tie, just leave it as is. Naturally, your hair

will frame your face while not sacrificing its already beautiful self. 

Whether you have naturally curly hair or you just did it with a curling iron, the curly pin up adds volume and panache to your outfit. With a small rubber

band, create a low ponytail. From there, start using bobby pins to put your hair up in different directions. 

While this looks complicated, a bold braided updo is just a hodgepodge of braids. A beautiful french braid could line behind one of your ears while a loose, big braid

is pinned to the back of your head. Get creative!

At a first glance, this looks like a typical bun. Upon closer inspection, the bun looks like the petals of a rose. It is perfect for work and then drinks

with your fellow coworkers. The rosette can always be embellished with a braid or a ribbon. 

This simple style gets the hair out of your face and only takes about two minutes to complete. Take strands from either side of your head and put them together

(using a tie or bobby pin) in the back. Loop the bottom hair through the put together strands and pin with bobby pins. 

This feels like a no brainer, right? But the easiest way to spice up your updo is to add a headband. Check out places like Nasty Gal, Forever 21, and

Nordstrom for funky additions. 

The twisted updo is exactly what it sounds like. Using hairspray and bobby pins, twist chunks of your hair and pin them to your head. The end result is absolutely

stunning. 

If you have professional highlights - whether that is an ombre, sunkissed glow, or something else- let your highlights do the talking. Create an updo that showcases these strands and

follow their lead as your pin up your hair. 

This style is perfect for the mother of the bride or the bridesmaids. In a typical chignon, add a jeweled piece to make the hairstyle shine. You could also add

a bouffant for extra definition. 

This is essentially a French Roll that is not as tight. Pull whisps from to frame your face and let your hair run a little wild. 

Just as it sounds, make your updo loose and messy. It seems that the messier you make your look, the better these days. Let your hair do its thing because,

regardless of what you think, it is beautiful. 

This 1940s classic look is perfect for any Hollywood-esque diva. The style works great at weddings and adds bulk without creating unnecessary frizz. If this is not enough for you,

add a braid or a ribbon. 

To your low bun, add a flower or a bejeweled pin for extra flare. This is perfect for weddings, music festivals, or parties.

The contemporary version of the French roll is messier than the conventional classic version. Like with any twist, this type of roll takes at most ten minutes and is perfect

for literally any occasion. 

As a combination of our two favorite styles, the chignon bun is put together like a typical chignon. Instead of leaving some of your hair down, flip all of your

hair up and over into a bun. 

Every girl's go-to, the messy bun is incredible simple and fast. It looks good with every outfit and makes it easy to run errands, go to the gym, go to

class, etc. 

To get the hair out of your face, take the forward most strands and make them into braids. Then, tie them at the back of your head. You will get

the benefit of an updo with the class of a downdo. 

There are all different types of formal buns. Ones with braids, ones with jewels, one with ribbons. For any formal event where you will wear a gown, try a formal

bun. It is quick yet elegant. 

Start off with a french braid, and, once you get to base of your head, loop your hair into a bun. It is a fun style that is easy to

do and excellent for all day events. 

For a classic 1920s look, put your hair in a low messy bun and then go for waves around your face. These are slicked down finger waves compared to the

more modern intricate loops. 

Before putting your hair up, make curls with mousse or an iron. Once completed, finger the curls to add volume. Then, put your hair into a messy bun, letting the

curls do their own thing. 

Go big or go home. Recently, big bouffants have become popular again thanks to Adele and Amy Winehouse. Try out this look at a decade themed party or a very

formal event. 

Headbands can turn even the simplest updo it a statement. Get a chunky headband for a bohemian look or a thin ribbon for a preppy style. 

To add flair to your low ponytail or bun, add some waves, or massive loose curls. It is simple yet intricate and can turn a typical hairstyle into something so

unique. 

This vintage look requires A LOT of hairspray. Use the spray to mold your hair into round curls that line the side of your head and your ears. Maybe throw in some

finger waves for extra flare. 

High ponytails are incredibly easy. Try leaving out one of your front strands. Then, once you put the rest of your hair in a pony tail, wrap those strands around

the base of the tail to create a modern, unique look. 

Bangs are a great way to style your updo. If you have them cut, use them to your advantage. They can make even a simple top knot look chic. Add

a few whisps around your face for ultimate framing. 

If you like to put your hair in cornrows, adding a braided twist will create a funky new hairstyle without making your take out your braids. After you twist your

braids, secure them to the top of your head using bobby pins. Voila. 

Whether or not you have an actual mohawk, a mohawk braid is really pretty and incredibly funky. You can do multiple braids or just one big one down the middle.

Whatever you want, this trend is really freaking cool. 

Natural styles are great because they prevent breakage and will last a long time. An elaborate bun or cornrows can we worn for weeks on end without damaging hair. This

will become your new go-to, trust me. 

This is super easy and simple. Twist your hair like you were about to do a chignon. Instead of securing the twists with bobby pins, use a barrette. 

Create a messy updo - my personal favorite is the messy low bun. Then, add a floral headband or just a flower that you picked from the bush next to

your house. Regardless, add that to the base of your piece, and you will be impress anyone you see!

Using either French braids or regular, create pigtail braids. Once the braids are completed, pin the tail end to the back of your head in whatever style you please!

Before putting this style together, curl your hair into big waves. Finger through the curls once completed. Then, make a chignon with your hair and start to place curls at

the nape of your neck (use hairspray and bobby pins to hold them in place). For an extra umph, add a statement barrette. 

If you do not know how to fishtail braids, I am sure one of your friends does (or check out any of the AMAZING YouTube tutorials). Once your hair is braided,

wrap the braids in a halo around your head, using bobby pins to secure them. 

This look is perfect for prom or a wedding. Pair French braids with a curled low bun or chignon, and secure the curls using bobby pins. For extra flair, add

a jeweled pin or a ribbon to the braid. 

After putting you hair in a curly row, intersperse pearls throughout the row. The added pearls are perfect for any bride-to-be and add an extra sparkle to the style, making

it elegant and classic simultaneously. 

Grabbing two chunks from the front of your hair, twist them and bring them together at the back. Roll them together and secure them to the base of your head

using bobby pins. This look is perfect for work or going out to dinner with friends. 

Create two French Braids on either side of your head. With the tail of the braids, put them in a bun or low pony tail. This will keep hair out

of your face all day and also looks great at semi-formal and formal events. 

A classic mid pony tail is one of your go-tos already. Enough cannot be said about how great this style is. It is timeless and easy and always gives off

a fun, sporty feel. 

Similar to a classic French roll, the tight twist leave no hair behind. To do this, start to make a bun. Once the hair is twisted, secure it to the

back of your head using bobby pins. 

Just as it sounds, the messy roll is, well, messy. Starting the way you would with a chignon, take two strands and pull the hair back from your face. Once

done, roll the hair at the bottom and secure with bobby pins. This simple yet elegant look is perfect for work and social events. 

To start this, you will need to flip your hair and quite literally start working on braiding your hair while upside down. Once the braid is complete with a tail,

turn that tail into a top knot.
