Back in 1961, Dick Van Dyke was one of the highest paid television actors, commanding $1,500 per episode of The Dick Van Dyke Show at his peak. Adjusted for inflation,

that comes out to around $12,221.

Today's highest-paid TV actress is Kaley Cuoco, who earns a whopping $900,000 per episode of CBS's The Big Bang Theory.

Johnny Galecki and Jim Parsons, Cuoco's co-stars on The Big Bang Theory, also rake in the cash, with salaries that match her $900,000 per episode paycheck. Get this- they used

to make $1 million before taking a pay cut so that other cast members could get a raise! 

For SNL heavyweights Dan Akroyd and John Belushi, each payday for an episode of the Saturday night sketch institution in the 1970's was around $750. That rounds out to about

$3,396 today.

Gilda Radner and Jane Curtin, two of three women in SNL's original cast, also had $750 per episode salaries during their first seasons on SNL.

Chevy Chase, also a member of the original cast, had the same salary as his counterparts. By the second season, he had moved on, however. Too bad- the salaries

went up to $2,000 per episode during that season, which would be about $9,303 today.

Today's senior SNL cast members, including Kenan Thompson, Leslie Jones, Aidy Bryant, and Kate McKinnon, make up to $24,000 per episode!

At 21 episodes per season, that means SNL cast members make up to $500,000 each year. Wow!

Jennifer Lawrence, the highest paid female film actress of our day, was paid $20 million for Passenger, her most recent film...

...whereas Judy Garland, the highest-paid actress of her time, was paid the equivalent of $8,763 per film in her day.

As for the dudes, where Dwayne Johnson made $19 million working on Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and Robert Downey Jr. raked in an incredible $40 million for Captain America: Civil War,
