Gallery: Chill Out. Even Tyra Banks Can't Do It All At Once (Now That She's A Mom)
This is a really special time of the year for Ms. Tyra Banks. She’ll be turning 43 on December 4 and her nine-month-old son 'York' will be in her arms to celebrate along with her!
If you’ve been even halfway following the trajectory of Tyra’s career, you know that she is a mogul in the most impressive way possible. She’s been a supermodel, television host, TV executive producer (shout out to Next Top Model) and so many other things; including a role model for women of all ages.
But as she’s been settling into her latest endeavor, motherhood, she’ll be the first to admit that it’s brought along with it quite a bit of changes and adjustments. One of them being her inability to multi-task as much as she used to. She recently told PEOPLE:
“My secret to balance is to focus on one thing at a time. I used to be the most amazing multitasker, doing three things at once,” she says. “Not anymore, now that I have my son. I think that’s Mother Nature’s way of saying this life you created takes all of your brain power.”
Banks adds, “Now I’m like, ‘Mommy’s going on a conference call,’ and I give him to his dad [Erik Alsa].”
If you’re a mom---especially a new mom---and you haven’t been cutting yourself very much slack because you think that you should be doing EVERYTHING, hopefully Tyra has inspired you to slow down. You can do it all (OK, most things). Just not all at once.
Here’s how.
