It can be a daily or weekly one, but try and get into the habit of creating a to-do list and work from the most important down to the least
-
important.
When you’re a mom, your child’s day hardly ever goes as planned. As you’re focused on them, that can cause you to forget some other intended work. Having it written down
-
beforehand can keep you focused and help you to make the most of your time; especially during those moments when you’re able to be alone, even if it’s for only
-
a few minutes. (A mom can do miracles in 10 minutes!)

There’s plenty of research out there to support the fact that most of us are not as good at multi-tasking as we think. Most of us can only do two
-
things right and well at a time. Your baby counts as “1”... and it's a real big one.
Look on your list to see what that second thing needs to be.
-
As far as priorities go, it should be something that can’t wait until tomorrow, like a bill that’s due or an email from a client that could earn you some
-

It’s easy to spend one-third of your day talking on the phone or being on email. There are articles to prove it. One claims that we spend as
-
much as six hours A DAY on email alone (we won’t even get into social media!).
If you’re balancing kids and work, you’re going to have to get on your smartphone
-
or laptop. But designate hours when you can do that. If you have a newborn, perhaps when they are napping or once you put them down at night.
As for social media,
-
it’s a good idea to consider scheduling it in. It gives you something fun and low key to look forward to, but it also keeps you from wasting valuable time surfing

Yes, you probably feel like there are a million things to do, but nothing is more important than your health! Your immune system stays strong when you eat right, exercise and get some sleep.
Eight
-
hours might seem unfathomable right now, but can probably work in 5-6 if you nap while your baby does, put yourself on a sleep schedule and do not overwhelm yourself
-
with all that needs to be done. If you’re able to complete 3-5 tasks a day, pat yourself on the back and rest easy. You’ve done good.

When you’re in a good place, so is your baby. Get a massage (or have a massage therapist come to your house). Take a bubble bath. Turn on some soothing
-
music and have a glass of wine (if you’re not breastfeeding). Go for a walk to do a little decompressing. Get your nails done. Color your hair. Ask a friend to
-
watch your baby so that you can watch a movie (or at least chill out in the theater).
Don’t feel the least bit guilty for needing some “me time”. You’re already
-
doing so much. It’s a sign of self-love and a desire to give your baby the best love possible, to also take care of you. (Weekly, we might add!)
This is a really special time of the year for Ms. Tyra Banks. She’ll be turning 43 on December 4 and her nine-month-old son 'York' will be in her arms to celebrate along with her!
