It sounds like the plot of a TV show: half a ton of marijuana goes missing from a police warehouse. Who's the culprit?!

Well, according to eight police officers who found themselves in exactly that situation, the culprit is an unlikely one: hungry mice.

According to The Guardian, the situation unfolded during an inspection of a police warehouse in the town of Pilar, Argentina, 60 miles outside of Buenos Aires.

The marijuana had been in storage for two years before the disappearance was officially investigated.

The story has since been covered by a variety of international media outlets, and the legitimacy of the cops' claims have widely been countered.
