It's true, you deserve better than someone who won't take you (and your attention) for granted. By becoming "the girl that always texts first" you are making yourself readily available

for someone who may not comprehend your beauty. While pressing enter on a screen is such a simple move, the thought behind it diminishes your self worth if you constantly

reach out first.

In all honesty, and yes the cliche works, if they want to talk to you, they will reach out. There's no problem with being clear about what you want, and who you want,

but if you stumble upon a situation in which you're constantly pecking for plans or attention, there may be a missed signal. Texting first often comes off too strong, especially

because it means there is a lack of reciprocation of interest.

Texting first and texting often create power complexes in relationships, both serious and new. If you're the girl that always texts first, you immediately are making yourself the more needier

person in the relationship. In fact, it seems as if you're the one waiting for a thumbs-up or acknowledgement at all times. Do not make yourself the weak person in the

relationship, because stability is key in order for anything to succeed.

If you can't go hours without texting someone, it might mean that you have an unhealthy dependence on someone. Regardless of how strong a relationship may seem, if you can't

exist without each other for a period of time, there is something wrong in the chemistry. Texting someone first, constantly, shows that you rely on someone for things that you

can handle on your own.

If you're the one always reaching out, it means that you're doing all the hard work of the relationship. Checking in after class, before an exam, in the morning, is all

sweet and necessary, but it needs to be approached from a two-way street. You're not babysitting your beau, you're meant to be in a relationship. If they aren't ready for

that kind of commitment, walk away.
