Gallery: DressUp As Any One of Your Favorite Disney Characters With #DisneyBounding
Don't lie...you've thought about dressing up as a Disney character for Halloween. I mean, most costume shops even have an entire section dedicated solely to Disney costumes. But if we're being honest here, most of them look pretty cheap. If you look online for more quality costumes, they end up being a bit too over-the-top and a lot too expensive. No thank you! Who wants to wear an entire gown to a Halloween party anyways?
That's why #DisneyBounding exists. Created by Leslie Kay, this trend has taken Disney-lovers by storm. DisneyBounding has nothing to do with Halloween, and everything to do with Disneyland. The happiest place on earth is very strict about what you can wear inside their park. Basically, you're not allowed to dress up as (or even remotely resemble) a Disney character. If children run up to you thinking you're Cinderella or Flynn Ryder, that's a problem in the eyes of Mickey Mouse.
In all seriousness though, wearing an entire costume to Disneyland isn't that ideal anyways. Going on rides and walking around all day in a gown and heels sounds like a disaster waiting to happen! However, you can still show your appreciation for your favorite characters by DisneyBounding.
It all starts off with replicating their color scheme. If you want to DisneyBound as Pooh, a red top or dress with yellow bottoms or tights is a good start. If you want to DisneyBound as Tiana, focus on shades of green. If you want to DisneyBound as Rapunzel, pink and purple are the way to go.
The color scheme makes you somewhat identifiable, however, accessories are what pulls the entire outfit together. A fork necklace for Ariel, an apple purse for Snow White, or a choker for Cinderella. These simple accessories will make you look like the character you're trying to be without actually tricking people into thinking you're that character. Win-win for everyone!
According to Leslie Kay, "DisneyBound is meant to be inspiration for you to pull together your own outfits which work for your body and wallet whether from your closet or local mall." We couldn't agree more! Most outfits can be put together with items you already have which makes dressing up accessible for anyone and everyone. Disney-lovers know no shape, size, income or color. Everyone deserves to show love for their favorite characters!
