for them.

This woman is just tossing out $1 million like it's candy. At least it goes to a good cause, like the time she gave to the victims of Hurricane

Harvey.

She must buy those oversized checks in bulk. Taking note of Sudanese refugee and extraordinary teacher Ekhlas Ahmed, Ellen offered to pay off her debts. 

During her 12 Days of Giveaways holiday event, Ellen called up a family and informed them that they would be getting $30,000 worth of Christmas goodies. 

Jen Lackey didn't think she'd be seeing her husband for the holidays. Ellen threw her off the scent with a special video call, before he surprised his family

on stage. Crafty. 

The U.S. was locked in a state of fear and unease after the 2017 Las Vegas shooting spree. Ellen's message of hope helped ease tension within her viewers. 

Ellen just keeps on giving. This time, she worked with Lowe's to donate to a Detroit school in need of funding. In addition to that, she got Justin Bieber on

board to donate concert ticket sales. 

Ellen teamed with Walmart to award the 42 graduates of the Brooklyn Summit Academy state school scholarships, an amount of cash that reached into the billion.

After doing an ad for JC Penny, Ellen drew ire from One Million Moms, a highly religious group for "traditional" marriage. Rather then sit back and take it, she

Ellen spreads the love in more ways than one. Her staff member, Aaron, was looking to propose to his girlfriend, which prompted Ellen to have him do it

on air. It would have been SOOOOO awkward if she'd said "no". 

Courtney was a single mom who was trying to raise her daughter. She wanted to return to school but didn't have the money to do so—until Ellen stepped in and

Ellen is usually the one making people laugh, but this time around, The Magnificent Britton, a tiny tyke of a magician, had her busting a gut.

Instead of canceling her show (or getting a guest host) after a back injury, Ellen opted to turn it into a fantastic and inspiring bit where she showed up to

film in a hospital bed. 

For her wife Portia's fortieth birthday, Ellen went all out. In a touching and hilarious video, Ellen took on the role of her wife and acted out the most

important moments of her life.

Does Ellen care about her staff? Well, evidently enough to get them a wife and other times to keep them from getting the flu. 

Kim and Becky just got through having a REALLY hard time of it. BOTH of them had cancer and they fought it together. Ellen heard about this and during a taping,

she gave them mounds of gifts. 

Okay, so Ellen is married...to a woman. That doesn't stop Tayt from calling her his girlfriend. Her show got him through hospital visits related to a heart transplant, and after

a successful surgery, Ellen sent him to Pixar studios. 

Ellen took a phone call on air one day from a woman claiming that a weirdly placed plant made Ellen look like an alfalfa. Obviously, Ellen had to call this

woman and the ensuing conversation is fantastic. 

Tony Marrero had been through a lot, having survived the Orlando shooting. When he came on Ellen's show, the last thing he expected was to meet his idol,

Katy Perry. Well, he got the unexpected that day.

It may not be as tear-inducing as some other moments, but Ellen capitalizing on Stone's work on "La La Land" led to a hilarious bit of tap dancing. 

Is shoplifting the opposite of heartwarming? Not when it's with Britney Spears!

Tom Hanks is heartwarming just by existing. But when he acts out scenes as Woody while Ellen acts as Dory, the HeartMelt-O-Meter hits a 10. 

It's pretty obvious that Ellen cares about her audience, and she took it one step further this time by cautioning against blindly believing fake news. 

No one can brighten up a day quite like Ellen. So, when she decked Jennifer Aniston (and herself) out in a sumo suit, you knew you were in

for a treat.

Ellen has a natural way with words (due to a background as a standup comic) but she tells a story about her dogs just to have an excuse to show

a picture of her dogs...which have mohawks.

Mark Wahlberg probably thought he was just going to talk about his physique, not prove its usefulness. Ellen had other ideas, offering cash donations for every pull up

he did.

Ellen shared the story of a firefighter with ALS with her audience and brought him and his wife to the show, along with their firehouse.

Minnie Driver showed up to promote Oxfam. It just so happens that Oxfam's outreach includes gifting donkeys to farmers. Naturally, Ellen had to play with donkeys.

The veteran had lost his arm and leg, but that didn't stop him from going to do shows like "American Grit." Ellen had him on and awarded his charity, the

No Excuses Fund, $10,000. 

Franz Walkup had been awarded a Purple Heart and Ellen took it one step further by awarding him $15,000. 

Susie Conway lost her house, and instead of simply giving her cash for a downpayment on a new house, Ellen opted to build her one from scratch. 

Mason Wartman went from Wall Street exec to pizza maker. HIs contributions to Philadelphia homeless population put him on Ellen's radar and she donated money to his cause. 

After finding out how a boy offered $5,000 of bar mitzvah winnings to a friend with a brain tumor, Ellen worked with Jim Parsons to get them some "Big

Bang Theory" swag and a meeting with the cast.

Ellen got wind of a clip of the boy singing "Grenade" and insisted he come on the show. Naturally, she followed through and the boy appeared on the show. 

Who knows, Ellen could have taken a week off and no one would have noticed, since McKinnon was so good at taking over. Seeing them on screen together

was magical. 

Ellen really does it up for Halloween, as evidenced by the time she full-on BECAME Sofia Vergara. Nothing could be quite as hilarious as this. 

Ellen is mischievous by nature, and that truly shines through when she is getting celebrities to prank people. It never is quite as mesmerizing as when Adele plays

along. Maybe it's the accent?

In a conversation that was at times funny and poignant, the two Ellens discussed the process of coming out.  

Ellen decided Miley Cyrus needed a bachelorette party and naturally the only thing that was appropriate was to accost Miley with male strippers. She was into it, thankfully.

Sophia Grace and Rosie have become an icon on Ellen's show, so it was only appropriate (and heartwarming) to see them wish the host a happy birthday.
