As a kid, tax season was my favorite. We didn't see much throughout the year, so tax season was like Christmas. Once my mom's refund check hit, we were ballin'. 

Then I became an adult and tax season became a whirlpool of confusion. Like a fool, I paid someone to do my taxes for a couple of years before realizing that there were programs to help out poor folks. That's not the only tax tip I wish I'd known. So, if you're an adult who isn't that up on adulting when it comes to this sort of stuff, don't worry. These tax tips are here to help you out.
