The royal wedding is set for May 19, 2018, and unless you’ve been living under an actual pile of rocks, the couple to be married is Meghan Markle and Prince

Harry. The royal wedding marks Prince Harry’s first marriage and Markle’s second.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle sparked rumors that they were dating in October of 2016. Harry was long known as the "Bachelor Prince" so it made sense that

he’d be dating an American actress. At the time, Markle starred on the USA show “Suits.” 

In an unlikely move, Harry acknowledged the dating rumors by releasing a statement in November 2016 urging the press to stop harassing his girlfriend. This bold and public

move suggested to everyone that this relationship was much more serious than Harry's ex-girlfriends. 

Meghan Markle deleted her lifestyle blog, The Tig, in April 2017, sparking rumors that she and Harry were getting serious and prompting many to wonder if they were

about to get engaged. Markle explained the death of her blog with the following statement: “What began as a passion project (my little engine that could) evolved into an amazing community

of inspiration, support, fun and frivolity. You’ve made my days brighter and filled this experience with so much joy. Keep finding those Tig moments of discovery, keep laughing and taking

risks, and keep being ‘the change you wish to see in the world.'"

On November 27, 2017 the couple announced their engagement to the world. “We're thrilled. We're both thrilled. We hope they'll be very happy indeed,” said Harry’s dad Prince

Charles. It’s confirmed that the couple will live at Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace and will essentially be neighbors with Will and Kate. 

According to their first official interview as an engaged couple, it was revealed that Harry proposed in their cottage over a roast chicken dinner. Lol. Nothing else interesting happened

during that interview other than watching them be cute and interact with each other. 

On December 15, 2017, the royal family finally gave us a date for the royal wedding: May 19, 2018. Thus, the countdown began. The wedding is set to

take place at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, a notably smaller venue than the 2011 wedding of Kate Middleton and Prince William. 

It’s notable to point out that the wedding is being held on a Saturday, which apparently breaks royal protocol. Typically, royal weddings are held on weekdays and it’s

target="_blank">declared a holiday for rest of the public. Word on Twitter is that locals are annoyed that the wedding is over the weekend, because everyone was looking forward to a

day off. 

On December 21, 2017, the royals blessed us with a Christmas gift—their official engagement photos. “The couple are so grateful for the warm and generous messages they have received during

such a happy time in their lives. As a way to say thank you, they have decided to share this candid photograph from the day of their portrait sittings directly

with all of you,” Kensington Palace shared alongside the images. 

But who is actually invited to the wedding? No official guest list is known. However, 2,640 people will be invited to the grounds of Windsor Castle to watch Meghan and

Harry arrive. Of those nearly 3,000 people, 1,200 are members of the general public who were specially chosen. The criteria for making the cut includes “people who have shown

strong leadership, and those who have served their communities.“

There won’t be any politicians or diplomats invited to the wedding, which is uncommon for most royal weddings. Meaning, Harry’s pal Barack Obama won’t even get an invite

and Donald Trump is definitely out. 

The guest list is obviously closely guarded, but a few famous names rumored to attend include: singer James Blunt (he and Harry served together in the British army),

singer Joss Stone (British soul singer and longtime friend of the family), model Cara Delevingne (she and Harry are pals), Chelsy Davy (Harry's longterm ex-girlfriend), Sir Elton John (friend of Diana's), Victoria

and David Beckham (they went to Will and Kate's wedding), actress Priyanka Chopra (Markle's good friend), and the cast of "Suits."

In March 2018, Meghan Markle was secretly baptized into the church of England by the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, who will also officiate on their wedding day. It

wasn't necessary for Markle to be baptized at all, but she announced at their engagement that it was something she wanted to do to formally join the Anglican Church.

According to their official wedding invites, which were made by Barnard and Westwood, the ceremony starts at noon at St. George's Chapel and is to be followed by

a reception at Windsor Castle. Barnard and Westwood is the default printing press for all kinds of royal family gatherings. 

The couple is also reportedly having a private reception that evening hosted by Harry’s dad Prince Charles. The second reception will be held at Frogmore House and 200

people are expected to attend, aka it will be a normal wedding

The couple also confirmed that they aren't accepting any gifts at the wedding—they ask only for charitable donations. So please, don’t send a fruit basket to Kensington Palace. For a

The venue where the ceremony is to take place (St. George's Chapel) can only hold 800 people, though the palace has confirmed that roughly 600 people will attend

the actual ceremony. Kate and Will married in front of 1,900 guests. 

If you aren’t invited but live in Windsor, England, there will be large screens set up along the Long Walk and in Alexandra Gardens in Windsor showing live footage of

the wedding. Plus, there will be public viewing areas along the procession route, food vendors, and live entertainment. 

The rest of the world can view the royal wedding on local news channels where it will be broadcast live. "The Today Show" will start their broadcast at 4:30

a.m. EST where they will be broadcasting from outside the castle. CBS will also air the wedding beginning at 4:00 a.m. EST.

Unlike Will and Kate’s wedding at Westminster Abbey, which was smack dab in the center of London—Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding will take place at Windsor Castle, which

is tucked quietly behind thick castle walls in the countryside of Windsor. It will be as private as a royal wedding can get. 

The cake is perhaps our biggest draw. The couple selected Violet Bakery's Claire Ptak to create a lemon elderflower creation for their big day. Judging by the baker's

website, these cakes remind us of the ultra trendy “naked cakes” that are taking modern American weddings by storm. We’re salivating just looking at these photos. 

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's official wedding photographer is Alexi Lubomirski, who also took their engagement photos. No word yet on who is DJ’ing. 

Meghan Markle is also planning to give a toast at her royal wedding, which is unprecedented, to say the least. The royal family is making this exception because

typically the bride’s father gives a speech, but Markle’s dad is reportedly too shy to do the honor.

Speaking of Meghan Markle’s dad, Thomas Markle will reportedly not be attending the wedding. Royal source Andrew Morton says that it will be Markle's mother Doria Radlan, who will walk

her down the aisle. Markle's parents are divorced. 

Nobody knows who exactly is designing Meghan Markle’s wedding dress. Kate Middleton opted for a Sarah Burton from Alexander McQueen creation but, while Markle has previously stated that she loves

"whimsical and subtly romantic" dresses, we won't know who the designer is until she walks down the aisle. However, there are several designers rumored to be the one

for the job...

Ralph & Russo designed the gorgeous dress that Meghan Markle wore in her official engagement portraits. It would make a lot of sense for her to enlist the haute couture

house to design her wedding dress.

Inbal Dror was asked to provide some sketches for a potential royal wedding dress, which were then leaked. However, it sounds as if Inbal Dror was one of

several designers asked to submit sketches and, unfortunately, the only one whose images were leaked. Bonus: Beyoncé has worn the designer's gowns before. 

Stewart Parvin is Queen Elizabeth II's personal designer and stylist, so it would make sense for Markle to at least consider a wedding designer from him. However, Kate didn't

choose a Parvin design, so Markle might not either. 

Roland Mouret and Meghan Markle are friends, so it would make sense that she'd consider her designer pal's wedding gowns before anyone else. He's also considered the "top

choice" to design her gown according to headlines. 

Prince George and Princess Charlotte will most likely serve as page boy and flower girl and, honestly, we’re excited for the wedding if for nothing else than those

two in whatever adorable wedding garb Kate Middleton puts them in. 

There’s also been a lot of speculation about Meghan Markle's bridal party. She may not have a bridal party or bachelorette weekend at all, but assuming Markle does, there’s a

few rumored names that keep making the rounds. Read on…

Meghan Markle has been friends with actress Priyanka Chopra for years and, even if Chopra isn't in the bridal party, she'll likely be at the wedding. Chopra spoke highly of

Markle in an interview with "Time" saying, "with her, what you see is real, and what you get is a relatable young woman with her heart and mind in

the right place.”

Designer Misha Nonoo is another rumored bridesmaid. It's rumored that Nonoo is the one who set Harry up with Markle. "We were seated next to one another at

a lunch, and we got along like a house on fire,” Nonoo told The Evening Standard about Markle. “I love her to death. She is the coolest girl in

the world.” 

According to "Vanity Fair," Jessica Mulroney is a stylist and bridal consultant who has been Meghan Markle's BFF for years. They even suggested that she's going to be

maid-of-honor and has also been helping plan the wedding.

Because Kate Middleton just gave birth on April 23, 2018, any chance of her potentially being a bridesmaid has been nixed. A source tells "Vanity Fair" that with her

newborn and two kids she's got enough on her plate and doesn't need to worry about bridesmaid duties. 

Until the big day arrives, Meghan Markle has been accompanying Harry on a number of royal engagements, which is unprecedented for a royal fiancee. Typically, these kinds of appearances are

reserved for after the wedding day once Markle has officially married into the family.

On her wedding day, Meghan Markle's brows are going to be on fleek! “They must be on point to balance the features and frame the face on the big day,”

Meghan Markle is a fan of aesthetician Nichola Joss who told "People" that Markle has been a client for five years and will likely get Joss's infamous "inner

facial" ahead of the wedding.

Once Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tie the knot, she'll get one of those fancy royal titles. If Prince Harry remains a prince, Markle's title could potentially be Her

Royal Highness Princess Henry of Wales. However, if Prince Harry goes the Duke route (like his brother William), then Markle will be a Duchess. Complicating matters even more, her given

name is Rachel, so she'll likely be Rachel, Duchess of Sussex.
