If you’re going to be sitting down to a blended family this Thanksgiving, you’re certainly not alone. Reportedly, over 65 percent of remarried couples in America have children on at least one side and 1 in 3 Americans are either a stepparent or a stepchild.

Just because it’s commonplace, that doesn’t automatically make for smooth sailing. This is especially the case if Thanksgiving is going to be the first holiday where you, your new spouse and both of your children will be sharing the same dinner table.

How do you make it comfortable for everyone? While there is no 100 percent failsafe plan, there are things you can do to put everyone’s mind---and expectation levels---much more at ease. Things that can get your new family on the road to many special holiday memories ahead.
