The #FlintWaterCrisis sparked a movement that opened the country’s eyes to the effects of racism on Black communities. Blinded by racism, Flint’s city officials kept quiet about the tainted water sources for months. If we take a historical look at the destruction of Black cities, we will uncover an underlying theme: racism.  These five Black cities were brought to their demise because of their racist neighbors, city officials, and government.
