According to Tim Hewett, director of research in the department of sports medicine at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, men just have 40 percent more muscle concentrated in their upper bodies than women do. This translates into about 50-60 percent more upper body strength. That doesn't mean that you cannot build strength in your arms, chest, back, and core. Quite the contrary, you absolutely can! Just ramp up your workouts and incorporate more strength training.
Many women worry about getting bulky muscles so they avoid lifting weights.
