You might’ve heard that it takes approximately half the amount of time you were with someone to get over them. Translation: If you dated a guy for two years, you’ll need one year before your heart is healed and you’re ready to move on to someone new.

Maybe. Maybe not. We’re all different when it comes to how we process pain and work through issues, so we wouldn’t say that’s a full-proof approach. What we will vouch for is you don’t need to fall for that “The best way to get over someone is to get under someone else" crap. Actually, that’s the best way to get an STD if you’re not careful!

So, just how can you know if your ex is truly a thing of the past in your life? Skim over these five signs and let us know where you’re at with them. Oh, and don’t rush healing process. A good man ain’t going nowhere. When you’re ready for someone new, we’re confident he’ll be there.
