Some of y’all might remember the song “Seven Whole Days” by Toni Braxton (it’s a throwback). She was talking about cutting off a guy because she hadn’t heard from him

in a week. Well, if you don’t feel like talking to or seeing “him”, and you’re going beyond seven days into several weeks, that’s a good sign that you’re ready

to move on. When you’re still emotionally attached, going a day without talking is too long. If it’s been WAY past that and you’re good…you’re good.

Girl, if you’ve unfriended, unfollowed or blocked him, you basically don’t even need to read the rest of this article! THAT’S HUGE! There are some folks who’ve been married for

a few years now and still can’t seem to stop checking in on their ex! Not wanting to know what he’s doing is a clear sign of moving forward, not

back.

Getting over a guy means that you also need to get over the relationship itself. Typically, people who rebound with other people aren’t even close to being over their past

love. They are simply using another person to ease the pain. If going on a date right now is the last thing on your mind, if you would prefer to

simply hang with your friends or even better, spend time catching up on a book or getting pampered at a salon alone, pat yourself on the back. You’re way ahead

of most when it comes to getting over someone.

What do you do when he calls? We’re not saying you have to always ignore his calls or block him, but if his name pops up and you’re not pressed

to answer? Good for you, girl! If you’re not together anymore, he’s not a top priority. Get to him when you can. Or want to. And what if you don’t want

to? It's all good.

It really is a good idea to take some time off of the dating scene to heal. But if it’s been a few months and someone you’re attracted to asks

you out, we won’t knock you for going. Just try and keep it casual for a while. Use your past relationship as a series of lessons learned so you don’t

find yourself repeating the same missteps over again with someone else. When you’re ready for something serious, you’ll know. And the furthest thing from your mind will be your ex.
