If your goal is to piss off the bride-to-be, ask her this question. When you think about it, all this does is fan the flames. It might be a conscious decision to

wait, the couple may be having doubts, or they may be dealing with more serious issues (health, legal trouble, etc.). Even if you know the bride fairly well, tread lightly.

If anybody knows how long she and her intended have been engaged, she does.

There is a strong likelihood that the answer to this question is, "NO." It is pretty normal for a newly-engaged couple to be quizzed about the pending nuptials. But, when you are

entering year five, it gets a little old — for almost everybody. Just stay in touch. When and if the date is set, you'll get your invitation.

Unless you footed the bill for the dress, don't you dare touch this one. So what if she bought her dress when she got engaged — back in 2011? She will be

a beautiful bride in the dress that she chose WHEN she gets married. Hair, makeup and accessories can update any look. Chances are the dress is non-refundable anyway. When the time comes,

help her update her look, assuming she asks for your opinion.

Unless you are deliberately trying to throw salt in her game, never ask a woman if her man is having second thoughts. She didn't come this far to get left

at the altar. Try to be supportive in spite of what you might really be feeling. If everything works out, you can all celebrate together. If not, she will need

a shoulder to cry on.

Seriously, people. It isn't a race. Some folks just have that forever kind of love that doesn't need to be defined by a marriage license. Drawing comparisons between one relationship

and another will get you uninvited to the wedding they haven't even planned yet. Think what you will, but keep your opinions to yourself.
