Does anyone write love letters anymore? Especially handwritten ones? You’ve probably seen a movie where a woman was going through an old trunk and happened upon some love letters. Didn’t

you want to say “Aww” as she was reading them? There’s something so romantic about sitting down and making the time to tell someone how much you love them, and

why, in your own handwriting. Go all out. Get some special stationery (perhaps in his favorite color). And put some of his favorite perfume on it. Then write away! You

can even send him a letter every day for several days so that he gets one for Christmas leading into the New Year.

What are some of your favorite things? What are some of his? Put a box together and mail them to each other. It doesn’t have to be anything super expensive.

It can be favorite treats. Favorite music. Favorite scent of candles. You get the gist. Just things that you both can have around the house, snack on or wear that

make you smile because they immediately make you think of one another. (Sweet.)

Ask someone your grandparents’ age how hard it was to be in a long-distance relationship when they were young and you’ll be thankful for technology! It’s not just like being

together (nothing is other than actually doing that), but it’s about the next best thing. You can do it on your phone, but we prefer a laptop. Then you can

have more screen time (literally) and cook or watch a movie together.

That box that we mentioned? Another thing to put in there is a piece of clothing. It can be a favorite T-shirt of yours (if he can fit it) and

he can send you a pair of his boxers. Then, over the Christmas holidays, while you’re sleeping in each other’s clothes, you can smell each other’s scent.

Just because you might not be able to be together for Christmas, that doesn’t mean you can’t see each other sooner than later. Plan a trip! The catch is to go somewhere
