“It’s still a man’s world,” the legendary architect Zaha Hadid said in an interview with the New York Times shortly before her sudden death earlier this year.

“For a woman to go out alone in architecture it is still very, very hard," Hadid said. In fact, a study released this year by the American Institute of Architects found that women and minorities believe they are less likely to be promoted and that both gender and race stand in the way when it comes to equal pay.
