The US isn't the only place serial killers strike. Africa has its fair share as well. One of the most famous, active from 2005 to 2007, is the

target="_blank">B1 Butcher, who got his name from his killing spree along the National Road B1.

Unlike many serial killers, "The Decapitator" is assumed to be a woman. She got away with seemingly random public murders throughout September 2015 in the Mexican town of Chimalhuacan.

North Carolina was plagued by a killer whose 10 female African American victims were discovered from 2005 to 2010. Although some theories about the identity of the killer have been

put forward, no definitive identity has been revealed. 

After being exposed when a creek dried up in 2009, 11 sets of remains of women ranging from 15 to 32 were discovered in New Mexico. The police

ave released photos of other possible victims, without ever revealing WHY they think these women are connected to the previously deceased. 

The small Belgian city of Mons spent 1996 and 1997 in terror as a killer left dismembered victims in easily discoverable areas all over town. 

A killer in Long Island using Craigslist to uncover prostitutes and murder has evaded police capture for over 20 years. HIs latest victims were discovered din December 2010.

Even though this killer has only claimed 2 victims, he falls into the category of serial murderer. He got his name from the dates in 2006 and 2008 he

href="http://fox13now.com/2013/02/04/tonight-at-9-crime-lab-helps-identify-utah-serial-killer/" target="_blank">murdered 2 women and an unborn baby. 

This one is highly speculative. There have been over 370 deaths of women in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico. While about half of the deaths have been attributed to motives like

robberies, the rest are up for debate. 

A mystery assailant killed three prostitutes in Lisbon in 1992 and 1993. One man even claimed his father did the deed in order to qualify for a reality

show in 2011— but there was a severe lack of evidence that didn't lead anywhere. 

In 1992, this killer got his nickname for shooting young, mostly female store clerks along Interstate 70 in the Midwest. He has also been linked to shootings in

Texas.

Found along Interstate 195, all of the victims were substance abusers from New Bedford. The killer has been linked to nine deaths and other possible assaults in the

late '80s. 

This man is thought to have picked up at least three different sex workers and killed them. His initial victims were discovered shot in the back of the

head.

In 1975, ten patients were found poisoned to death with hospital drugs. Several nurses were arrested, but no strong motive could be connected to them and the case

was dropped, with the culprit at large. 

This trio of men are responsible for a series of violent robberies, beatings, and shootings that claimed the lives of 28 people in Belgium.

Apparently, this location is the perfect place to  bury a body, because the victims have nowhere to run and no one can hear them scream. Many bodies (mostly young women)

have been found and their deaths never solved. 

This 1970s killer was responsible for 14 deaths in San Francisco. HIs nickname came from the fact that he would sketch his victims before stabbing them. 

In 1970s Manhattan , a killer snatched five children and got his nickname from the genital mutilations he committed before killing them. There is a possible suspect for

this one, but he was deemed unfit for trial, so no one knows if he's actually guilty. 

During the early '70s in Northern California, the bodies of seven female hitchhikers were connected to a mysterious killer. Naked, the victims were discovered in rural locations. 

The grandaddy of them all: The Ripper murdered and dismembered prostutiates in London. Thought to be a surgeon, he was never officially caught. 

The Phantom Killer of Texarkana killed victims in the spring of 1946. He attacked 10 people, but only half of them died. A three month investigation turned up

zero strong leads. 

Three club-going women were raped and killed in 1960s Glasgow by a red-haired man who frequently quoted the Bible. One victim's sister was able to provide a rough

idea of what the guy looked like, but he was never found.

Austin, Texas in 1884 and 1885 became the setting for a series of eight axe murders. Initially thought to be the work of Jack the Ripper, later discoveries

categorized them as the work of a separate "madman."

In 1977 St. Louis, three people feel victim to random car bombings. A later bombing in Kentucky that killed the boyfriend of an earlier victim made authorities think

the bombings might have had deliberate victims, but ultimately, no real evidence of that could be found. 

During 1985, in Japan, a killer left poisoned drinks in or next to vending machines. The killer's name came from the type of poison used. 

This killer is responsible for the deaths of 13 gay men in the Parque dos Paturis in Brazil. The killings took place form 2007 to 2008. Police have announced

that the killer could possibly be a state police officer. 

DNA evidence of this female killer had been found at six different murder scenes between 1993 and 2009. Cotton swabs contaminated by a factory worker proved this lead

false — so the true murderer (or more likely murderers) is still out there. 

Little is known about this murderer (or group of murderers). Really, all that's known is that dead women with reddish hair have been found in similar situations throughout

the southern United States. 

In Oakland County, Michigan, between 1976 and 1977, the bodies of 2 girls and 2 boys were discovered. No suspect has been named and there is a possibility that

target="_blank">this killer has claimed more victims. 

In 1975, five Florida women were killed. It's been theorized that the killer offered to help them with flat tires (that he had deflated). His weapons of choice

involved everything from a gun to a hammer. 

During the 1990s, Frankford, Pennsylvania played host to a series of at least eight stabbing/sexual assaults. Eyewitnesses placed several victims with a middle-aged white male right before their

deaths. 

Between 1971 and 1972, this killer abducted several young Washington, DC-based African-American girls, raped, and strangled them. HIs victims ranged from ten to eighteen. 

This killer struck from 1986 to 1991 in South Korea, tying up and stabbing his victims. He has been compared to the Zodiac Killer, due to his infamy

in the area. 

He was the first serial killer to strike in Honolulu, Hawaii. He raped and killed five women between 1985 and 1986. 

A lonely stretch of highway in Canada has claimed the lives of over 40 women. In a strange twist, several murders in this area have been linked to at

least three other serial killers, while many other murders have gone unsolved. 

During the mid-'60s, in London, a killer disposed of nude prostitutes along the River Thames. He got his nickname as an allusion to Jack the Ripper. 

From 1987 to 1988, Calcutta, Indiana homeless people were killed in their sleep by an unknown individual. No one knowns if the 13 deaths were the work of

a single killer.

Despite the Washington State-area killer shooting his victims, he became known by the tube sock moniker due to tying a tube sock around the neck of one of

his victims.

During the '70s and '80s in Adelaide, Australia, a group of mostly unidentified men killed five young men and boy after sexually abusing them. One killer was sentenced

to prison for one of the deaths, while the other four remain unsolved, and the rest of the group remains at large. 

In 2006, this killer strangled four female prostitutes near Atlantic City in New Jersey. The women, clothed but missing sock and shoes, were arranged together in a drainage

ditch near a motel.

This is probably the most famous modern unsolved serial murder case on record. Active in the 1960s and '70s, this killer is known for sending odd ciphers to

the police that mostly go un-decrypted.
