Brie Larson, who presented Affleck's award, appeared equally irritated — and for a good reason.

At last year's Academy Awards, Larson nabbed Best Actress for playing a woman being held captive by her

rapist in The Room. The 27-year-old — a longtime advocate for assault survivors — told the BBC that she was completely consumed by the role, holing up in her home for a month straight and

meeting with psychologists to try to grasp her character's trauma.

Needless to say, the sick irony of Larson presenting Affleck's award wasn't lost on people watching the ceremony.

This wasn't even the first time Larson's had to present Affleck with an award; she did so last month at the Golden Globes, where he won Best Actor.

But in a

subtle yet powerful move showing her solidarity with assault survivors, Larson refused to applaud Affleck as he accepted his award — and people were SO glad.
