Just when you thought mom jeans should be outlawed, they become a wardrobe staple every short girl needs. The reason? High waisted skirts and pants elongate your bottom half, making

you appear leaner and longer. 

When your shirt hangs out over your bottoms, it cuts into the length of your body. If you tuck your shirt in, it shortens your upper half, but lengthens your

lower half. This gives the illusion of being taller. 

Petite girls should stay away from boxy tops that don't create any shape. Instead, go for form fitting ones that show off your figure. This helps keep your clothes to

scale with your smaller frame, so that your clothes don't overwhelm you.

You don't have to use clothes to look taller. An easy trick is to put your hair in a top knot, which will add height to your head, and in

turn give your overall look more length.

Short girls are lucky because they can get away with wearing a mini skirt and not come off looking trashy. A mini skirt will show off more of your legs,

making them look longer. Mini skirts are also great because they fit your "mini" body well.

Just because you're short doesn't mean you can't rock printed pieces. The key is to stick to smaller prints that are more proportionate to your size. Large prints will be

too bold and make you look like you're drowning in your clothes.

Wearing head to toe clothing in varying shades of the same color makes you look like one long girl, instead of breaking up your look with several different colors. Stick

to the same hues for your look if you want to give yourself some height.

When you're on the short side, your pants shouldn't be longer than you. If they reach the floor or go past your shoes, they are too long. Stay proportionate by

cuffing the bottom of your jeans, or going with a cropped style.

You might not think that your shoes can affect how tall you look, but they can! Pointed toe styles actually stop your feet from looking too boxy, which gives your

look a longer appearance.
