The Vampire Diaries is spooky by nature with all those vampires and hybrids and witches, so it's a no-brainer to watch at least one episode of the series this fall. You should

definitely watch "Haunted" because it is a Halloween specific episode, so it includes costumes, which is awesome. Plus, it still has Damon Salvatore as the villain and Vampire Vicky is

on the loose!

We're not going to lie, we love all of the Dunphy Halloween episodes, but this one might be the best. It's the scary story from Season 2 where Claire and

Phil create a haunted house, which features all of their kids as characters. The most ridiculous one is Haley who dresses as "slutty Mother Teresa." You'll laugh, trust us.

The tale of the "slutty pumpkin" lasts throughout almost the entire series of How I Met Your Mother and it's because it's such a great story. Ted goes to the

same party every year in hopes of finding the girl he met a long time ago, who he only knows as "The Slutty Pumpkin." The actual girl is played by

Katie Holmes. It's a mystery, a cliffhanger, and classic HIMYM.

Freaks and Geeks was only one season but every episode was pretty glorious. Their Halloween episode, "Tricks and Treats," is so good. It follows Sam and his crew of geeks

as they continue to trick-or-treat despite being in high school. Lindsay, on the other hand, is too cool to go out on Halloween and instead eggs people with her freaks crew.

The highlight of the episode, however, is the fact that Bill goes as the Bionic Woman.

It wouldn't be a Halloween TV marathon without an episode of Friends. Season 8's "The One With the Halloween Party" revolves around Monica's Halloween party. All you really need to

know is that Chandler arm wrestles Ross while he wears a giant pink bunny costume and Ross is dressed as Spud-nik.

There is just so much awesomeness in "Spooky Endings". For starters Penny and Max dress up as a mommy and baby and still try to get lucky with the guys.

Second, the whole gang goes to a warehouse party that gets out of hand very quickly. Plus, we just love having an excuse to re-watch episodes of Happy Endings.

There are actually four Halloween episodes throughout Buffy the Vampire Slayer, all of which are interesting, but "Halloween" from Season 2 is the best! This episode is so crazy,because on Halloween

everyone actually becomes their costume. Buffy is a damsel in distress (or 18th century maiden), which is ironic, while Xander, now G.I. Joe,  is all about protecting and serving while Willow turns

into a ghost.  

Oh man, Boy Meets World's "And Then There Was Shawn," was a classic episode. This episode was a teen slasher parody and totally ridiculous looking back on it. Plus, it

was scary and sad because it was right after Cory and Topanga broke up. The whole time you're trying to figure out who the murderer is at the high school as you

hope your favorite character doesn't die. The actual killer may surprise you!

There are two great Halloween episodes of Parks and Recreation, so we advise you to watch them both. "Halloween Surprise," however offers a little more depth in the storyline, which

is why it made our list. The episode includes Tom's invention of Rent-A-Swag, Jerry's fart attack and Ben's proposal to Leslie! What more could you want?

Season 2's "Greg Piktis"

is a close second featuring Leslie's annoying teen prankster enemy, Ann's almost disastrous Halloween party and Burt Macklin's first appearance.

What's not to love about Michael Scott trying to celebrate the scary holiday? On this episode of The Office, Michael is pressured into firing someone, but he loves Halloween so he

doesn't want it to damper the party. Meanwhile, Jim dresses up as "3-Hole-Punch Jim," and it is awesome. 

A lot of Dawson's Creek's best episodes were in Season 1 and that's definitley the case for its Halloween-themed storylines. In "The Scare", the Capeside kids have a seance on

Friday the 13th and Dawson scares all of his friends throughout the night. The creepy part is that a mysterious woman shows up and hangs out with them the whole night,

and they know nothing about her. Meanwhile there is a serial killer on the loose!

Every season The Simpsons has an episode dedicated to Halloween called "Treehouse of Horror." We highly recommend watching all of them, because they are hilarious and take on different themes

and iconic scary movies. It's worth a watch... at least once, if not twice, during October.
