When Garrett Gee's company Scan, was acquired by SnapChat for $54 million in 2014, the 26-year-old and his wife held a garage sale to sell all of their belongings, and venture on the trip of  lifetime with their two little ones, daughter Dorsey and son Manilla. They used $45,000 of their profit toward their 6-month adventure around the world, with the possibility of extension if they still had money left over.
