Every year we get a new crop of horror movies. We have slashers, zombie flicks, thrillers, and even Oscar winners. Shout out to “The Silence of the Lambs” and “Get Out.” We even get parodies of the horror movies in things like the “Scary Movie” franchise.
However, while every genre is great in its own right, there is something about a horror movie being based on a true story that is truly terrifying. You think, “OMFG NO WAY” the whole time you're watching it.
Take, for example, the story of the Perron family, who moved into their new house only to undergo a terrifying and increasingly violent succession of hauntings and possession. Their story was ultimately dramatized in the feature film “The Conjuring” in 2013. After learning learning that this creepy ghost story actually went down in real life, we had to dig a little deeper into the story behind the terrifying true tale of “The Conjuring.”
