For example, did you know that Rapunzel's suitor knocked her up and then had his eyes gashed out by thorns, or that Cinderella's stepsisters each chopped off half a foot in a desperate need to fit into her slipper? And, don't even get us started on Giambattista Basile's original version of Sleeping Beauty; this prince is no Prince Phillip, that's for sure!
