Gallery: You Know You're Ghetto If...

Everyone doesn’t understand your approach to life, but you are as resourceful as resourceful gets. That’s indeed something to be proud of. Some call you ghetto, some even stoop to ratchet. Whatever the label may be, you are incredibly great at making something out of nothing.

That’s just a black folk skill, let’s be honest here. So what if you hoard condiments from each and every fast food restaurant you eat at? Who cares if you can’t quite say ‘straight’ or ‘shrimp’ without the added ‘k’ (skraight, skrimp)? You are a boss of using what you have in order to survive. We’re not judging. Your momz or pops may have put the power bill in your name, shredding your credit to oblivion, but you’re armed with the skills to come out alright regardless.

While other people misuse the term, “ghetto” in all their ignorance, we celebrate your creativeness and revere it simply for the fact that we’ve all been there, done that. We know that it’s nothing to shun you for, but rather to acknowledge. So, big ups to all my creatives out there. Ya’ll are the real MVPs.
