It's understandable if you think you've headed underwater or into an ice cave when you see the inside of this tunnel. The deep blues are actually just lights. You're safe, INSIDE OF

A MOUNTAIN. 

This stop should be on any tourist's list of to-dos when visiting Shanghai. It's got an amazing light show that's about as psychedelic as you can possibly get!

The insanely long underwater train tunnel connects the UK with France. If you have to travel between the two, the Chunnel is an impressive option.

This tunnel starts off as a seemingly normal tunnel. Well, you're driving on a highway suspended over the ocean, but still it's relatively normal. That is until you rise

over an incline and dip down...into a tunnel that takes you underwater. 

Located on top of the continental divide in Colorado, this tunnel crisscrosses mountains and is considered the longest mountain tunnel with the highest elevation in the US interstate system. 

This red, rocky tunnel might look ominous as you disappear into it, but it lets out into majestic views of dusty, rocky, mountain hills in Utah.

The longest tunnel in China, the space opens up into an odd little section that is backlit purple and filled with exotic plants. Beautiful, but fairly random. 

This Californian forest houses ancient trees that are so big you can build a tunnel in the base big enough to drive a car through. It may be the shortest

tunnel on the list, but it's still pretty amazing. 

UPDATE 1/21/17: The last car-accessible tunnel tree actually just fell about a week ago due to heavy weather. However, there are still tunnels in

redwood trees that you can walk through.
