Why has it become so easy to settle for someone who isn't perfect for you? There are many reasons and the biggest factor is you, because you are allowing yourself to settle. It's not your fault though, when at every turn you're told that being single is bad or that you aren't with someone because you are too picky. 

Everywhere we look there are constant reminders that being single is a negative thing. But is it really? We read magazines that have headlines like "get the perfect man", or the quiz of the month "why are you single". We settle to appease our statuses, to avoid being the one who needs the help of that magazine, or to say we have someone so our mothers stop calling to set us up - but none of these reasons are to ever actually make you happy. It makes us feel like there's something wrong with us if we don't have someone, so we settle, even if it doesn't feel right.
