Gallery: Yaaas! Bleach-Free Blue Hair For Brunettes Is Now An Option
Sometimes blondes do get to have all the fun — like dying their hair funky colors without having to worry about bleach. Pastel hair blew up this year in a way we didn't expect, but a lot of us brunettes cringed at the mere thought of damaging our manes every time we wanted to switch up the shade.
Well, cringe no more, brunette friends: You can now dye your hair all sorts of colors without bleach — and you don't even have to visit a stylist to do so!
Head to Target to pick up a package of Splat Midnight Hair Color for $8.99. The vice president of the marketing firm that makes Splat's dyes told Allure that instead of using hydrogen peroxide to get your natural hair color out of each strand of hair, the dye fills the strands with "finely-milled micro-pigments (not unlike your favorite highlighter), which attach to the hair for high-impact color." Besides being less damaging than bleach, this process is also a lot quicker. (No complaints here.)
You can choose from Amethyst (a dark purple), Ruby (a deep red), and Indigo (a navy blue), or experiment with a combination of the three to get that groovy ~opal~ 'do that everyone's talking about on Instagram. Would you go blue, red, or purple like the image below?
