This summer-inspired natural self-tanner DIY is based on just two ingredients: lotion and cocoa powder. In theory, it sounds simple enough, right? 

Hoping for a more natural faux glow, lifestyle blogger Jillee tested out the cocoa-infused tanner for herself. In a bowl, she mixed 1/4 cup of cocoa powder with

1 cup of lotion. Several applications of the lotion resulted in a streaky appearance, and even after allowing her skin to completely dry, THIS happened.

This pro Pin from the gals at The Beauty Department involves using Kool-Aid as a lip stain. Mix and match your fave Kool-Aid colors to score a fun summer

shade. Dampen your finger and coat it in the Kool-Aid mixture. Blend the powder onto your mouth, then, taking a damp Q-tip, retrace your lips to smooth out any clumps.

Official Pintester Sonja tried to pull off this DIY Kool-Aid lip stain, but things didn't quite go as planned. Instead of a simple stain, things turned into a

clumpy mess. However, she did say she enjoyed eating the rest of the "Crystal Lite powder like a Pixie Stick." A nice reward following a #PinterestFail. 

This Candy Cane manicure from Nail Polish Wars is perfect for the holiday season! The instructions seem simple enough: 1) Apply two coats of red polish, followed by

a top coat 2) Once nails are dry, apply pieces of scotch tape across nails. Paint over nails with white polish to score diagonal lines.

Pintester Kristin attempted this Pinterest nail look and decided she'd rather have paid a pro.

No-Heat Straight Hair? Count us in! This hack suggests spritzing a ratio of water and brown sugar on wet hair. Let it air-dry and voilà!

Voilà-NO! Or at least that's what happened to professional Pintester Vanessa. 

"I wouldn’t try this again," she wrote. "It got my bathroom floor, counter, and walls all sticky,

and didn’t straighten my hair. It made it more curly."

We love these cartoon-inspired nails. So, we're guessing they're hard as heck to re-create. After applying a base coat, cover nails with two thin coats of pink. Use

a black striper to outline nails. Add a white dot and line for a highlighted effect.

Clearly, a nail disaster area ahead.

In theory, this beauty hack pulls double duty on your eye routine. The idea here is to take an eye pencil and draw a thin line along the

inside edge of your lash curler. Then, as you're curling your lashes, you'll also get the benefits of a nice lined eye.

Beauty Vlogger Ellko attempted to re-create this line & curl beauty hack, which ended just as we expected—a hot mess. 

This beauty hack brought to you by Total Beauty promises you'll wake up with vintage vixen waves. You in? After applying texturizing cream, twist small sections of hair

and pin them tightly against your scalp with a bobby pin. Next? Sleep.

Pintester Vickette11 attempted the beauty hack of our dreams, but it appears to have resulted in a morning frizz fest. Her suggestion for next time? "I would've dampened [my]

hair and definitely used the [exact] product they recommended!"

In order to pull off this pro Pinterest nail hack, you'll need a few things. The most important being a bowl of water, a toothpick, and, of course,

nail polish. To get the marble effect, the idea is to drop small nail polish droplets into the water, then dip your nails in the design.

It appears things got a little rough for Pintester Adison. Her response to the nail disaster? "I would not ever do it again. This project is for very

talented people."

We're not sure why anyone would want to decorate their man's beard in forest vegetation, but, hey, the Internet says it's cool.

Unless you're a florist with a bunch of ferns, moss, and baby's breath at your disposal, then odds are your dude's beard might turn out like this guy's.

We love this Cut-Out Dress idea from A PAIR AND A SPARE. All you'll need to pintest this look is an oversized Jersey T-shirt, bleach, and scissors. After

the bleach job, make a few snips to your shirt, and you're beach-ready in five minutes flat. 

Pintester Tara had the sneaky suspicion things might go awry when trying to re-create this dress. She summed up her experience like this: "I probably should've used a tighter,

longer T-shirt, but, alas, I did not. I carpe’d that diem and ruined an old baggy T-shirt. Oh well, there’s always more old T-shirts to slaughter." 

Another no-heat hair hack? This one from Offbeat Bride. Roll your hair into pin curls and secure with bobby pins. 

Pintester Kelli had this to say after her hair hack fail: "I look like Adele and Carrot Top’s sad little love child!"

This overnight hair hack seems like it might have some major morning potential, especially for girls with early go times. The idea here is to twist or braid

hair and secure with a hair tie. Feel free to pin it to the top of your head, too. In the morning, before releasing hair, spritz it with some unidentified

hair product and enjoy gorgeous beach waves.
