Quiz: Name That Food…In French! Quiz Yourself On French Food Words
The French are well known for their cuisine, from meringue-based macarons (not to be confused with coconut-based macaroons) to slimy escargots (I guess they’re not so slimy when you eat them). All delicacies aside, everyone even knows the more common French foods, like croissants and baguettes. And while both English and French speakers call these carb-filled delights by the same name, this is not always the case. (Okay, I’ll admit that an orange is “orange” in either language, but look up the French word for “apple,” and you’ll wonder where English went wrong.)
Are you ready to test your knowledge of French food names? If so, unfold your napkins, ready your forks and knives, and bon appétit!
